A farewell to Wilmer Tjossem
Wilmer Luverne Tjossem passed away peacefully May 1, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Hospital after suffering a fatal injury from a fall. He was 92. A memorial service for him will be held, probably sometime in mid-June under the care of the Des Moines Valley Friends Meeting. A wonderful man has left us, but we are so grateful for the rich life he led and for the many lives he touched as he endeavored to live out his Quaker values in all aspects of his journey. Our thoughts and concerns are with those facing the challenge of going on without him.
FCNL Annual Meeting & Quaker Lobby Day 2015 Last year, we were over 430 strong as we lobbied for diplomacy with Iran — and it worked. Congress left negotiators space to arrive at a framework agreement that guards against Iran developing a nuclear bomb and helps avert another war. You made a difference.
Save the Date: November 12-15, 2015 Join us as we continue our Quaker witness and lobby to build a pathway to peace. Mark your calendars for FCNL's 2015 Annual Meeting and Quaker Lobby Day, November 12-15, 2015.
